Filming Request
The table below outlines the EPA’s Fee Structure.
Welcome
INTRODUCTION
Guyana has to offer all different kinds of locations to suit your filming needs. Filming in Guyana can be
easily accomplished once all the prerequisites are fulfilled. This document serves as a guide to potential
individuals or companies that are interested in filming in Guyana.
All individuals or companies that are interested in filming in Guyana are required to secure the necessary
permission from relevant authorities and management. These may include but not limited to (depending
on locations and activities):
• Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
• Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA)
• Protected Areas Commission (Filming at Kaieteur National Park)
• Ministry of Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs or Village Council (Amerindian Villages)
• Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Fisheries (Filming of Arapaima Fish)
• Property Management of the Cathedral (Filming of St. George’s Cathedral)
• Transport and Harbours Department (Filming of Lighthouse)
• Demerara Harbour Bridge Management (Filming of Demerara Harbour Bridge)
• Georgetown Mayor and City Council (Filming of Stabroek Market, etc)
N.B. The GTA should be copied in all correspondences sent to the relevant authorities. This is critical as the GTA,
the facilitator will work with the sister agencies to ensure the necessary permits are issued in a timely manner.
Film Application Process -All individuals or companies must complete an EPA application form seeking permission to film in Guyana whether it is for research or just simply to film an activity, attraction or event. N.B. EPA application must be completed ONLINE using the online system referred to as the National Biodiversity Research Information System (NBRIS) for the submission and processing of all applications.

APPENDIX
GPS Points
Kaieteur National Park (KNP):
Pt 1. When filming the dredge on the Potaro please note that the KNP boundary starts at Pt 1 (N50 16’
43.2”; W590 22’ 55.9”). The north bank of the river, upriver of Pt 1, is inside the National Park.
Pt 2. Upriver from Pt 1 is Pt 2. The film crew does not have permission to travel beyond Point 2 (N50 16’
06.4”; W590 23’ 26.9”). This is the point at which you cross fully into the Protected Area, with the land on
both banks being inside Kaieteur National Park.
Pt 3. Should the crew be filming along the Potaro river in Chenopau Village, please make note that Pt 3
(N50 05’ 39.1”; W590 30’ 25.5”) on the map marks the point where the PA boundary crosses the Potaro
river. Downstream of this is inside Kaieteur National Park, and therefore off-limits to the film crew.
Pt 4. If filming on the Potaro downstream for Chenopau Village, please note that Pt 4 (N50 03’ 51.1”;
W590 32’ 25.8”) marks the point where the PA boundary begins to follow the river. The west bank of the
Potaro is inside the Kaieteur National Park, and therefore off-limits.
Kanuku Mountains Protected Area (KMPA):
Pt 1. Following the Rewa River upriver from Rewa the film crew will meet and travel along the Protected
Area boundary immediately after they pass Pt1 (N30 39’ 51.5”; W580 42’ 49.7” ). The west bank of the
river is inside the Kanuku Mountains Protected Area, and therefore at this point while filming it should be
clear that no reference is made to the protected area, or the proximity of the team to the protected area.
Pt 2. Please make note: Pt 2 (N30 17’ 24.2”; W580 45’ 01.0”) is the confluence of the Rewa river and the
Kwitaro river. The protected area boundary continues to follow the Rewa River at this point. Any persons
traveling on the Kwitaro River would be entering the Kanuku Mountains Protected Area, and would not
leave the KMPA until passing Pt 4 (see below).
It is our understanding (from information provided to us by villagers in Rewa) that the film crew is planning
to travel along the Kwitaro and to exit the river and travel on foot to Shea village.Should the expedition
follow this route RAW TV/Bushmasters would be in direct violation of the conditions under which they
have been given permission to operate.
Pt 3. (N20 56’ 54.4”; W580 35’ 37.5”). This is the point at which persons traveling south on the Rewa river
would leave the KMPA boundary
Pt 4. (N20 58’ 31.7”; W580 54’ 51.0”). This is the point at which persons traveling south on the Kwitaro
river would exit the KMPA. Points north of this are inside the KMPA, and therefore off-limits to the film
crew.
Pt 5. (N20 56’ 40.6”; W580 58’ 09.2”). This is the point at which persons traveling south on the Kwitaro
river would leave the KMPA boundary.
