In “Giants of the Savannah”, A WILD Connection host – James Currie joins researcher Erin Earl, conservationist Leroy Ignacio and Vaquero Richard Peter, to discover never-before-seen behaviours of giant anteaters in Guyana. Along the way, we learn of the deep cultural ties between giant anteaters and the Indigenous populations of the Rupununi and how new conservation strategies empower local communities to protect the land they cherish.

James meets with Melanie McTurk of the Karanambu Lodge and Trust, where she carries on the work of her late aunt, Diane McTurk, in rescuing, rehabilitating and reintroducing orphaned giant river otter pups into the Rupununi.
