Located at 12 Chapel Street, New Amsterdam, Mission Chapel Church was established in 1815 by Rev. John Wray. It became popular because it rejected no one, with special provisions made to accommodate slaves. It was the first church that did not have separate pews for the slaves and European population of the then colony.
