Air
The two main airports of the country lie on the outskirts of Georgetown - Cheddi Jagan International Airport, which connects the country to the rest of the world, and Eugene F. Correia International Airport (formerly Ogle) which is used for domestic connections and some flights to Suriname and the Caribbean. The Cheddi Jagan airport is located on the bank of the Demerara River in Timehri, about 41 kilometres from the city.
