Welcome to
Wildlife Spotting & Birding

The tall evergreen highland forests house in them almost 192 creatures, including the elusive jaguar, tapir, giant anteater and more. Amongst the 319 species of birds, there are 27 species that are endemic to the Shield and six distinct habitats offering birding enthusiasts ample reason to visit. Some of the species that can be seen include highland affinities, such as the Vermiculated Screech-Owl, White-tipped Swift, Brown Violet-ear, Chestnut-tipped Toucanet, Tepui Greenlet, Rufous-winged Antwren and Rufous-browed Peppershrike. The nature trails are raw and many are seldom travelled – a delightful proposition for both real nature enthusiasts.
